The Death of Holiday Cards

Los Angeles, California, March 1, 2011 – Lingospot, Inc. (www.lingospot.com), a leading provider of on-demand Algorithmic Publishing™ software, announces its decision to opt out of holiday cards this year. The tradition of exchanging holiday cards has been part of culture for a long time, Lingospot opted out of exchanging holiday cards this year for the following reasons:

  • With the deteriorating state of the environment, Lingospot would like to save some trees.
  • In this economy, the Lingospot team felt there were better ways to spread the holiday spirit.

Last year Lingospot spent less than $500 on holiday cards (hey, it’s a startup!). This year, they took that $500 and donated it to the World Food Programme – the world’s front line organization fighting world hunger.  Going forward, Lingospot’s goal is to double that amount each year. So, when the ten year anniversary of the death of Lingospot holiday cards arrives, they will donate upwards of a quarter of a million.

Best wishes for 2009!
